A Day to Remember

Not for anything I did on the road. Today I ran only 4.1 miles in 33:57 a 7.1 mph pace. My legs were a little tired this morning probably because I didn't sleep too well again last night. I'm more tired not having a job than from running. Although my left knee hurt today. Well 32 miles in 3 days is a lot for me.
I had my interview at Target. I arrived when they asked me to arrive but the computers (2) were both taken so I had to wait. Then the screen I was suppose to go to was one back from the start but I was told to just "use" the computer. Finally, I found I had to go back one page to continue my application. Several questions later I was escorted to my interview. Sara was very nice, as was Jared. They hired me contingent on my passing a drug test and a background check. I peed in a cup later in the afternoon at a lab. I hadn't drank much all day since running and my urine was dark. I don't even take vitamins or over-the-counter medications so I should be Ok. By taking the job I am losing about $100/week below unemployment. Since unemployment was about 1/3 of what I used to make I feel like I'm sliding into oblivion.
Tomorrow I have an interview with CVS. If they like me and hire me part time as a pharmacy tech I then have 2 jobs. I hope I can run as well.

congrats on the job! i'd hope you weren't doubtful about the drug test. it stinks how much the pay scale is messed up now, especially since employers know they can offer less with the influx of professionals looking for a job. hopefully you'll get the 2nd job as well for a little extra padding in the wallet, but definitely can't let it interfere with running!
