I felt good this morning and I started early enough to beat the heat for at least 11/2 hours. I was pushing it up hills and ran several 1/2 miles at 7:15-7:45. My 1/2 marathon was 1:48:00 but the heat was getting to me at the end. I had brought 3 bottles on my Amphipod belt and it was just enough! 14 miles in 1:56:57 so I did slow up the last mile, I just needed more to drink. Max HR 156 bpm which was good and I keep my HR up to 75-80% of max through most of the run and felt good.
Runner's World has an article on compression socks in the latest issue; I wear them on most of my runs and in all my races.
